Description of my research project
(Extract from the annual report 2009/2010 of the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung)
I am doing my PhD on planetary formation in binary systems such as Gamma Cephei and Alpha Centauri in the group of Wilhelm Kley where I also did my diploma thesis on on Self-gravitating accretion disks. For my simulation I’m using the FARGO code, a two-dimensional hydrodynamic code. Visualisations are done with Fargnuplot or my own FARGO Viewer using OpenGL.
